There’s nothing like the excitement and satisfaction that comes when a campaign does really well. When you see all of the hard work from the past few months was worth it. It deserves a celebration- or at least some chocolate or a coffee run.
But after celebrating and enjoying the moment. . . what do you do?
Here are 2 things you need to do when your nonprofit has good results:
- Analyze the results to see what went well. Did you try something new that the donors liked? Did you tweak something from the previous year that worked? If you can identify what worked well, then you can replicate it and use it again.
But be careful! Yes, you can try a similar strategy next year and hope for similar results. But if you just rinse and repeat year after year, you’ll see diminishing returns. Remember to adjust and tweak so that it doesn’t become stale.
2. Don’t get too comfortable. Just because results are good doesn’t mean you get to stop fundraising. Keep building relationships with your donors. Reach out to major donors to connect with them. Thank your new donors. Continue to cultivate those relationships and show your donors the impact they’re making.
So, what went well? Let us know what worked for you or send us any questions by emailing us at howdy@oneicity.com. Now, go get some chocolate to celebrate.
